Evangelia Dimitrakopoulou, Soft Shell, 2020

Working between Athens and London, Evangelia Dimitrakopoulou's practice explores the permeable properties of sound and smell through sculpture and installation.

This new video work begins to consider how a sense of infiltration might be conveyed through text and visuals along with the idea of how drug - substance intake enhances the perforation of our bodies. Using found footage of eel hunters, who drug and numb the eels to make them easy to catch, combined with simple, poetic text- the work becomes a more abstract contemplation of our own physical selves.
